Statista Amerika liefert eine interessante Tabelle zu den Resale Preisen des iPhone 5 und seinen Konkurrenten, gestaffelt nach den erzielbaren Resale Preisen. Im Lauf der Woche gab es bereits einen Bericht zu dem geplanten Trade-In Programm von Apple – das allerdings wohl niedrigere Preise für den Endkunden anbieten würde.
iPhone 5 führt mit großem Abstand Resale Rangliste
Demnach liegt ein iPhone 5 mit 315 $, weit vor dem Samsung Galaxy S4 mit 250 $. An vierter Stelle liegt noch das iPhone 4S, mit 200 $.

Die Zahlen stammen von dem Resale Anbieter Gazelle. Wie The Wall Street Journal aufführt variieren die Resale Preise, zwischen den verschiedenen Anbietern teils deutlich:
Independent trade-in sites also offer one distinct advantage over retailers and direct sale sites like Craigslist and eBay: They give consumers a grace period between the time they agree to sell their phone and hand it over. For the first time, Gazelle will give consumers 50 days to send in their device if they lock in their price by Sept. 10, with its usual 30-day grace period after that. It offers $350 for a mint condition iPhone 5, and $235 for a 4S. AT&T offers $261 for the iPhone 5 and $175 for the 4S. “Apple will likely fall in line at a competitive rate,” says Scott McLaren, chief marketing officer at ProtectCell, a cellphone insurance company that also buys used phones.
Israel Ganot, CEO von Gazelle, sieht dem neuen Serviceangebot von Apple positiv entgegen, da es dem gesamten Resale Markt einen positiven Schub geben wird:
“This is not a market-share fight,” says Israel Ganot, CEO of Gazelle.com, which buys iPhones and sells them overseas. “It will lift the boat for everyone,” he says, making iPhone trade-ins a mainstream activity for consumers who wouldn’t have considered it before.
